Campus Life

Priory students are going places. They work hard, have fun, and feel free to explore all kinds of interests in and out of class. They form strong friendships with each other, across grades, and with faculty members, as a result of shared activities. The school schedules foster these experiences by providing many times when people can be together, and a wide range of activities within the school day and year.
Here is a typical day: after two hours of classes, everyone takes a mid-morning break at the center of the campusit's a time for doughnuts or bagels, chatting with teachers and friends, supporting charitable activities, enjoying games and contests among the classes. At lunch, students and teachers eat together at round tables and they mingle easily. The formal academic day ends at about 2:30 p.m. Middle School students head for sports practice. High School students use the hour for classes in performing and visual arts, student publications, ungraded co-curricular activities (called H-Blocks) or tutoring time with their teachers. In the late afternoon, students head for drama rehearsals, athletic team practices, or a host of individual activities. The faculty does its best to coordinate major tests and facilitate campus life without compromising academic expectations.
It is a busy time, and it needs to be. Students are hard at work discovering their strengths and passions, assessing the skills they need, and developing the resilience to attain their goals.

"I like how good the students are to each other. Kids can express their interests without feeling that people will make fun of them. I like that the high schoolers look after the middle schoolers."
