Coaches: Celso Onofre
Celso Onofre is in his 12th year as Head Boy���s & Girl���s Tennis Coach at Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley, California. Additionally, he teaches tennis classes in the middle school Physical Education Department. Over the years Celso has had the opportunity to work with some very talented players who have gone on to College Division 1 programs and the international professional tennis circuit. Current ATP top 20 player, Dimitri Tursonov and former UC Santa Cruz star, Carlos Gonzalez to name a couple. Last year Priory boy���s number 1 player, Naveen Dixit, is currently playing for the men���s team of UC San Diego.
Celso has been a USPTA (P-1) professional for 15 years. A native Brazilian, he played competitively as a junior and started his professional teaching career in New York and Florida. During his Florida tenure Celso had the opportunity to work at the prestigious Kim Warwick/ Bob Butterfield International Academy where the likes of ATP stars Pat Cash and Wally Masur trained. Celso also worked with renowned Latin American ATP player and coach Pablo Arraya in beautiful Key Biscayne.
Celso���s love of travel has taken him all over the world where he worked as a teaching professional for numerous Club Med properties in Mexico, Bahamas, and Caribbean.
