Coaches: Al Klein
Al Klein coaches Boys' Basketball
Seeking to improve upon the trips to CCS playoffs which the boys' basketball team previously enjoyed, the Priory turned to Al Klein as Head Coach of the boys' basketball program in the fall of 2005.
Coach Klein has extensive coaching and administrative experience. He has coached at local high schools including Menlo and Palo Alto and on the college level at Menlo College and Cañada College. His many accomplishments include coaching teams to State Championships (in California and North Carolina). He has also coached on the professional level in Japan. He is an expert at team building, strength training and the development of individual talents. A number of Coach Klein's former players have gone on to play and/or coach at the high school and college level; among his former players are several prominent local coaches.
Coach Klein is not only coaching at the Priory; he is a fulltime member of the Priory staff, counseling high school students as they face the the challenges of their high school years. Coach Klein graduated from UC Davis and has a Master's degree in counselling from Santa Clara University.
