Coaches: Damian Cohen

Coach Cohen

Damian Cohen coaches Girls' Varsity Soccer.

Damian Cohen graduated in 1997 from UC Davis with a degree in political science and sociology (with a focus in law). After an internship within Washington DC's Public Defender Service, he decided that teaching was his calling, not the law. While obtaining his teaching credential from San Jose State University, he taught US History, World History and health education at Ralston Middle School in Belmont (his alma mater). After completing the credential program, Damien moved on to teach AP US History, world studies and regular US History at Carlmont High School (also his alma mater). Unable to continue the cycle of teaching at his alma maters (the next school in succession being UC Davis) Damien decided his next best option was to teach US history at Woodside Priory. He is currently pursuing his masters degree (US history) at San Jose State University.

Damien has been playing soccer since age five. He began coaching after graduation from UC Davis. He coached junior high girls' soccer for two years (with two playoff appearances), JV high school girls' soccer for three years ( with three championships), one year of girls varsity soccer (one CCS final) and two years of club soccer(one Association Cup appearance). He has also scouted for the Olympic Development Program.

In addition to his coaching at The Priory, Damien coaches the San Carlos Nightmares, the defending Under-17 Class I championship team from District 2. This team will be graduating to Under-19 this upcoming year; they will attempt qualifying for the distinguished Premier League. Meanwhile, at the Priory, he coaches the Girls' Varsity Soccer team, and the Middle School Girls' Soccer team.
